U.S. Senators Steve Daines and Jon Tester and Congressman Matt Rosendale sent a letter to President Biden advocating for a state funeral to be held for the last surviving World War II Medal of Honor recipient.
“These ceremonies offer our nation the opportunity to pause and reflect on the service of not only the individual, but also those who served alongside them,” the delegation wrote. “Mr. President, you hold the authority to designate a state funeral and we request that you honor the last surviving Medal of Honor recipient from World War II with this distinction.”
