Gianforte Recognizes State Employees with Governor’s Awards for Excellence

October 11, 2023

Governor Greg Gianforte and Department of Administration Director Misty Ann Giles today recognized state employees who have gone above and beyond in their service to the people of Montana with the Governor’s Awards for Excellence.

“One of the guiding principles of our administration is changing the way Helena does business to better serve its customers, the people of Montana,” Governor Gianforte said. “When we see state employees providing Montanans with exceptional service, we want to recognize them, and that’s what today is all about.”

Recipients of the awards range from teams with a singular mission to individuals who enhanced the workings of state government and implement cost-saving measures.

Recipients of the Governor’s Awards for Excellence include:

  • The Income Tax Relief Team, for delivering Montanans up to $1,250 in income tax rebates this summer and processing over 443,000 payments over eight days.
  • Historical Society Team, for packing and inventorying the entire museum collection of over 61,500 historical objects in preparation for the future Heritage Center.

A list of all award winners is available on the Department of Administration website.

“Hardworking State of Montana employees are responsible for providing essential services, and these awardees have gone above and beyond their job duties for the people of Montana,” said Department of Administration Director Misty Ann Giles. “We are proud of their accomplishments and dedication to exemplary service.”
