System overload causing power outages in areas of eastern Montana

McCone Electric Co-op announced electrical power has been fixed for the time being after experiencing a nationwide system overload Tuesday affecting parts of eastern Montana.

According to a Facebook post from McCone Electric Co-op, the Western Area Power Administration needed to turn off power in 30 minute intervals to avoid a system blackout possibly through Thursday. They added the system overload is affecting people from Canada to Texas.
