Montana Revokes License of Doctor Accused of Unnecessary Cancer Treatments

December 25, 2025

The state of Montana has revoked the medical license of Dr. Thomas Weiner, the former director of St. Peter’s Health Cancer Treatment Center, following findings that he harmed patients through unnecessary treatments and violated professional standards of care.

The Adjudication Panel of the Montana Board of Medical Examiners voted unanimously last week to revoke Weiner’s license. The four panel members present agreed with board investigators that Weiner violated Montana’s rules of professional conduct.

“Dr. Weiner is permanently prohibited from practicing medicine in Montana and agrees he will not seek licensure as a physician in Montana in the future,” said Jennifer Stallkamp, legal counsel for the Montana Board of Examiners, as she read the stipulation approved by the panel.

Weiner’s case stems from allegations that he subjected patients to treatments that were not medically necessary, causing harm and failing to meet accepted standards of professional care. The board’s decision brings a formal end to his ability to practice medicine in the state.

State officials said the revocation reflects the board’s responsibility to protect patients and uphold professional standards within Montana’s medical community.
