Judge Clears Justice Department to Release Epstein Grand Jury Transcripts

December 6, 2025

A Florida federal judge on Friday authorized the U.S. Justice Department to release grand jury transcripts from its sex trafficking investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, potentially revealing new details about the late financier’s connections to high-profile individuals, including former President Donald Trump.

The Justice Department requested the unsealing after Congress, under Republican control, passed legislation requiring the Attorney General to make all unclassified materials related to investigations of Epstein and his associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, publicly available. Maxwell is currently serving a prison sentence for sex trafficking.

U.S. District Judge Rodney Smith approved the Justice Department’s request, clearing the way for public access to the previously confidential grand jury records. Observers say the transcripts could provide further insight into Epstein’s operations and the network of associates surrounding him.
