GREAT FALLS, Mont. — Gov. Greg Gianforte announced that Janicki Industries selected Great Falls as the site of an $800 million manufacturing campus expected to create more than 1,000 jobs in its first five years and ultimately employ more than 2,000 people once fully built out.
John Janicki, president of the company, made the announcement during the annual meeting of the Great Falls Development Authority. The company said it was purchasing 180 acres of shovel-ready land within the AgriTech Park, with construction expected to begin in July 2026 and the first phase of the campus anticipated to open by the end of 2027.
Janicki Industries is a privately owned engineering and manufacturing company founded in 1993 with more than three decades of experience in advanced composites, precision machining, and metal fabrication. The company currently operates more than one million square feet of facilities across Washington and Utah and employs more than 2,000 people. The Great Falls expansion was driven by sustained growth in aerospace, defense, and space programs, following a multi-month site evaluation process.
In announcing the expansion, John Janicki cited Washington state’s regulatory environment and lack of business-friendly policy as key factors in the decision to expand to Montana rather than grow further in the company’s home state. He said decisions at the state level had made it increasingly difficult for employees to achieve financial stability and for the company to invest in local job creation.
Gianforte framed the announcement as a direct result of his administration’s economic priorities, including simplifying the state income tax structure from seven brackets to two, cutting income taxes across all income levels, delivering property tax relief, and expanding affordable workforce housing. He said the Treasure State had proven its ability to attract businesses relocating from high-tax, high-regulation states.
