Governor Brad Little Appoints Christine Starr as Executive Director of the Commission of Pardons and Parole

October 19, 2024

Governor Brad Little announced today the appointment of Christine Starr as the new executive director of the Commission of Pardons and Parole.

Starr brings a wealth of experience in the criminal justice system, having most recently served as deputy director and chief of staff at the Idaho Department of Correction. Her background includes roles as a public defender, as well as over 15 years as a prosecutor and police attorney. During her tenure at the Boise City Attorney’s Office, she managed both the Public Safety and Civil Divisions, providing legal counsel to various boards and commissions, and played a key role in establishing a specialty court in Ada County.

Starr holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Idaho and a Master of Public Administration in State and Local Government from Boise State University.

“I am deeply honored by Governor Little’s appointment and am very excited to bring my passion for public safety and over 20 years of public service in the criminal justice system to the Commission of Pardons and Parole,” Starr said.
