Gianforte Announces 2025 Montana Governor’s Veteran Commendation Recipients

Governor Greg Gianforte on Monday announced the 58 Montanans selected to receive the 2025 Montana Governor’s Veteran Commendation, an annual honor recognizing veterans who have demonstrated exceptional service to both their country and their communities.

“Our veterans answered the call to serve our nation and continue to answer the call to serve their communities,” Gov. Gianforte said. “The Montana Governor’s Veteran Commendation allows us to thank them for their dedication and honor their lasting impact here at home. I’m grateful to the Montanans who nominated these deserving veterans so we can recognize their lives of service.”

The commendation program, which relies on nominations submitted by Montanans, highlights veterans who not only served honorably in uniform but also made meaningful contributions to civic life after returning home. Since its creation, more than 170 veterans have been recognized for leadership, volunteerism, and community impact.

The 2025 class of honorees will be formally recognized in the new year during a statewide award ceremony, where each recipient will also be presented with a commemorative flag flown over the Montana State Capitol.
