University of Montana Names Anne Hosler as Director of Broadcast Media Center

February 2, 2025

After an extensive nationwide search, the University of Montana has selected Anne Hosler to lead the Broadcast Media Center.

Hosler, who has been with the center since 2012, has served in various roles, including membership manager and director of development. She has been acting as interim director and will now officially step into the leadership position.

“I was enthusiastic about the opportunity to apply for this role,” Hosler said. “Recognizing the vital role of local public television and radio in our state, I’m eager to contribute and serve communities across Montana and beyond.”

As director, Hosler will oversee operations for Montana Public Radio and KUFM-TV, part of MontanaPBS.

“Anne’s deep understanding of the Broadcast Media Center and her passion for public media set her apart,” said Dave Kuntz, chair of the search committee. “We are excited to see her thrive in this role.”

During her tenure as Montana Public Radio’s director of development, Hosler helped raise over $2 million annually and led multiple pledge drives, securing crucial funding for the station’s statewide expansion.

A two-time UM graduate, Hosler earned a political science degree in 2009 and a master’s in public administration in 2017. She succeeds Ray Ekness, who retired in 2023 after leading the center for seven years.
