South Central Judicial District Presiding Judge Bruce Romanick Announces Retirement

South Central Judicial District Presiding Judge Bruce Romanick has announced he will retire on December 31, 2024, after serving 24 years on the bench. First elected as a District Court Judge in 2000, Judge Romanick held the SCJD Judgeship #3 seat for four consecutive terms, overseeing numerous cases and making a lasting impact on the legal community.

On December 19, 2024, colleagues, friends, and family gathered at the Burleigh County courthouse to celebrate his distinguished career and honor his dedication to justice. During the event, Judge Romanick was congratulated by Supreme Court Justice Lisa McEvers, who praised his service and contributions to the South Central Judicial District.

Judge Romanick spent nearly a quarter-century serving the people of North Dakota, and his retirement marks the end of an era for the district. He was warmly greeted by well-wishers during the celebration, reflecting on his career and the relationships he’s built throughout his tenure.

As he prepares for his retirement, Judge Romanick’s legacy of service and commitment to the rule of law will leave an enduring mark on the South Central Judicial District.
