Representative Rosendale Fights for Fair COVID Relief Funding for Montana Tribes

March 12, 2021

Representative Rosendale sent a letter to Secretary Yellen strongly encouraging she use certified, current tribal enrollment data to determine the funding formula for the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, rather than the outdated 2010 U.S. Census data that was used for the CARES Act.

“During the coronavirus pandemic, relief funding from the federal government was distributed to Tribal governments using out of date inaccurate population data for tribes,” said Representative Rosendale. “As we continue recovering from COVID-19, it’s crucial that Montana’s tribal communities receive adequate funding using current, more accurate data.”
