MINNEAPOLIS—Laura Vedder has been appointed assistant vice president in Treasury Services at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, expanding her leadership role at the bank less than two years after joining the organization.

In the new position, Vedder is responsible for Treasury Services’ compliance and risk program, including vendor management and Treasury-specific compliance efforts. She also oversees organizational change management, communications and related leadership activities.

Vedder joined the Minneapolis Fed in 2024 as director of procurement and vendor management in the Risk and Compliance Division.

Before joining the bank, she served as assistant director for contracts and procurement at the Metropolitan Council. Earlier in her career, she worked as general counsel to two federally recognized American Indian tribes, advising on federal, state and tribal laws, policies and procedures.

Vedder also has experience as a prosecutor.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and a law degree from the University of St. Thomas School of Law.
