Justice Friese installed on North Dakota Supreme Court

May 2, 2026

The North Dakota Supreme Court welcomed its newest member as Justice Friese was officially installed during a formal investiture ceremony.

Chief Justice Lisa Fair McEvers was joined by Justices Jon J. Jensen and Jerod E. Tufte in welcoming attendees to the ceremony. Debra L. Hoffarth, President of the State Bar Association of North Dakota, presented the judicial robe to Justice Friese, and Justice Friese’s wife, RoxAnne, assisted with the official robing.

Governor Kelly Armstrong spoke at the ceremony, reflecting on his appointment of Justice Friese to the Supreme Court. U.S. District Chief Judge Peter D. Welte also offered remarks, as did Attorney Bruce D. Quick, Esq., who spoke of his experiences as a fellow attorney alongside Justice Friese.
