Flint Launches Public Safety Ad

October 11, 2026

KALISPELL—Republican congressional candidate Aaron Flint has released a new general-election advertisement focused on public safety, fentanyl and border security, featuring Gallatin County Sheriff Dan Springer.

In the ad, Springer endorses Flint and says the Republican candidate would support stronger enforcement against fentanyl trafficking and tighter border security.

“Lieutenant Colonel Flint will crack down on fentanyl dealers and secure our border,” Springer says in the advertisement. “Aaron Flint will keep your families safe.”

The ad also targets Democratic opponent Sam Forstag over his past lobbying work for the American Civil Liberties Union.

Flint’s campaign says Forstag opposed legislation during the 2021 Montana Legislature that was aimed at preventing state and local governments from adopting sanctuary policies or refusing certain cooperation with federal immigration authorities.

Flint said the contrast reflects a broader disagreement between the candidates over immigration enforcement and the role of local law enforcement.

“Unlike my opponent, who lobbied for sanctuary policies and restrictions that would make it tougher for law enforcement to do their job, I will always back the brave men and women in blue,” Flint said.

The new advertisement continues a broader campaign effort by Flint to focus attention on Forstag’s lobbying record, including positions on immigration, taxes and criminal-justice legislation.

The public-safety ad comes as Flint and Forstag compete in the general election for Montana’s western U.S. House district.
