Dakota Foundry Named One of America’s Top 100 Small Businesses by U.S. Chamber of Commerce

November 3, 2025

Dakota Foundry, a vertically integrated grey and ductile iron foundry, has been named one of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce “CO—100 Top 100 Small Businesses in America”, a national recognition that highlights the company’s innovation, craftsmanship, and impact on American manufacturing.

The CO—100 designation honors small businesses demonstrating exceptional innovation and influence across the country. Dakota Foundry has distinguished itself through vertical integration spanning casting, machining, pattern building, and engineering services, while also tackling the national skilled labor shortage through its Iron Warrior Academy, a 501(c)(3) training program.

Under the leadership of CEO and founder Kory Anderson, Dakota Foundry has achieved several notable milestones, including winning the American Foundry Society’s “Casting of the Year Award” and contributing to a Guinness World Record by producing more than 250 unique castings for the 150 Case Steam Engine, the largest steam traction engine in the world. In 2024, the company expanded its capabilities with the launch of Spartan Pattern Company, featuring advanced HAAS machining centers for high-precision pattern and tooling production.

Dakota Foundry also emphasizes innovation in its manufacturing processes, utilizing MAGMA simulation software to optimize casting and expanding into aluminum casting through a planned acquisition in Indiana. The company produces grey and ductile iron castings ranging from a few pounds to thousands of pounds, serving industries including agriculture, construction, and industrial machinery.

Beyond manufacturing, Dakota Foundry is investing in the future workforce. The Iron Warrior Academy provides hands-on welding and fabrication training, mentorship, and teamwork to address the nationwide shortage of skilled tradespeople. The academy recently secured a $30,000 SolidWorks for Good donation to support engineering education and innovation.

Additionally, Dakota Foundry’s Iron Warrior Fitness Products division manufactures 100% American-made strength equipment, including kettlebells and the patent-pending “Warbell,” further showcasing the company’s commitment to domestic production and innovation.

“Being recognized as one of the top 100 small businesses in America validates our team’s dedication to quality, innovation, and workforce development,” Anderson said. “This honor reflects the hard work of every employee and our commitment to keeping American manufacturing strong.”
