Billings to Welcome Two New Event Centers by Year’s End

July 15, 2024

Billings is set to elevate its event hosting capabilities with the imminent completion of two state-of-the-art event centers by the close of the year.

The Billings Hotel & Convention Center is slated to unveil a significant addition, encompassing approximately 16,000 square feet of brand-new space. This expansion aims to cater to larger gatherings and enhance the venue’s overall capacity for events.

Simultaneously, Veeder Homestead, LLC is diligently transforming the former Carmike Theater site at 2225 Overland Drive into the **Veeder Event Center**, boasting an impressive 30,000 square feet of renovated convention space. The project includes a 7,500-square-foot addition to the existing 22,000-square-foot theater, promising a versatile setting equipped with cutting-edge technology.

Both centers are set to integrate advanced amenities such as live streaming capabilities and expansive projection screens, ensuring they meet the modern demands of event organizers and attendees alike.

The $4.9 million expansion at the Billings Hotel & Convention Center is anticipated to accommodate up to 2,000 people, positioning it as a premier destination for large-scale gatherings in the region.

Meanwhile, the Veeder Event Center will be able to host around 500 individuals, offering flexible spaces including seminar rooms and entertainment areas equipped with advanced electronic capabilities.

Veeder noted the building’s interim name, expressing optimism for its impact on the local business landscape. “So this area of town is a good area. It’s good for business.”

Both projects are on track for completion within their respective timelines, with the Veeder Event Center set to open its doors in just two months. The Billings Hotel & Convention Center’s new construction is scheduled to finish by December, marking a significant milestone for event hosting in Billings.

As anticipation builds, Billings residents and businesses alike eagerly await the debut of these enhanced event venues, poised to elevate the city’s stature as a hub for gatherings, conferences, and community events.
